ZZ Plant Imperial Potting Soil

We all know the saying “you get what you pay for.” This holds true for everything from clothes to tires to the food we buy. And it’s no different when it comes to the potting soil we use for our beloved plants. While you may be tempted to go for a cheaper option, the results will show. That’s why our ZZ Plant Imperial Potting Soil gives you an edge. With our soil, your plants can thrive, and you can have the confidence of knowing you’ve given them the best. So why settle for less?

Superior Mixes from rePotme

At rePotme, we pride ourselves on offering the highest quality ingredients, freshness, and value for our customers. Unlike other brands, all of our potting mixes are handmade, the old-fashioned way. This means that we carefully inspect every ingredient and create perfectly blended mixes that promote healthy and happy plants. It’s not uncommon to find bugs and larvae in other mixes, but with ours, you can see exactly what you’re getting thanks to our clear bags. Our mixes are clean, fresh, and personally inspected for quality. Don’t settle for less when it comes to your plants.

Sorting Out Quantity

Shopping for potting mixes can be a challenge, especially when it comes to comparing sizes. Some brands list the weight, some list the dimensions, but few tell you exactly how much mix you’ll get in each container. We believe in transparency, which is why we provide clear information. For example, one quart of our potting mix fills a six-inch wide pot, two four-inch pots, or half of an eight-inch pot without a plant. The number of plants you can repot depends on the size of the roots and how tightly the mix is packed. Our customers know that they’re getting a generous amount of soil for their money. We value giving you good value with each and every order.

Choices and Sizes Galore

At rePotme, we understand that different plants have different needs. That’s why we offer a wide range of mixes for every type of plant you can imagine. Whether you need a small bag or a giant cube, we have the perfect size for you. We even pioneered the Make Your Own Select-A-Blend concept, where you can customize your mix and have it shipped the same day. With rePotme, you have the freedom to choose exactly what you want for your plants.

Long-Lasting Quality

When it comes to buying orchids, it’s crucial to inspect the mix and pot they come in. Many times, the mix is old, and the plant is already climbing out of the pot. Repotting your new plants in our fresh mix and new pots is a smart move. Our mixes promote oxygen movement around the root zone, which is essential for the health of your orchids. While other mixes break down over time, our mixes hold up extremely well. This is because they start off fresh and clean, and they’re handled and packaged with care along the way.

The Meaning of Fresh

Unlike other brands that use machines to make their mixes, we take a hands-on approach. We wash, inspect, and blend our mix ingredients with care. Each mix is handcrafted, and every bag is filled manually. This ensures that you receive a mix that is still moist and has the look and feel of freshness. Other brands’ mixes can become dried out, crushed, and filled with dust due to machine handling and storage. With rePotme, you can trust in the freshness and quality of our mixes.

Say No to Soaking

Some mixes on the market require soaking for hours because they are dried out and have been sitting around for months. Our mixes are ready to use as soon as you receive them. No need to soak overnight. We recommend uniformly moistening our mixes for immediate use, and you’ll see the difference right away. Our mixes are never stiff, dusty, or shriveled. They’re prepared with care, so you can enjoy hassle-free potting.

Beware of Box Store Mixes

When shopping at big box stores, be cautious of mixes labeled as “Orchid Bark”. These pretty little bags may not reveal the actual contents, and you may end up with low-quality bark that has been cooked at high temperatures. This process makes the bark brittle, dusty, and potentially irritating to the skin. At rePotme, we offer alternatives that are fresh, great for your plants, and free of dust and fines. Our mixes include sustainable harvested media like Orchiata Monterey Pine bark, Coconut Husk, Redwood chips, and Sphagnum mosses. We provide full transparency with clear resealable bags so you know exactly what you’re getting. Don’t be fooled by pretty packaging at your local box store.

Classic vs. Imperial: What’s the Difference?

We offer two lines of mixes: Classic and Imperial. The Classic mixes were our first creations and remain a slightly more affordable option. The Imperial mixes, on the other hand, are made with harder-to-find ingredients, are more complex, and are costlier to produce. For example, our Phalaenopsis Imperial mixes (AAA, Monterey Gold, and Monterey Dark) are made with ultra-pure New Zealand AAA Sphagnum moss and other carefully selected ingredients. The Gold version also includes virgin cork chips from Portugal, while the Dark Version contains special aged bark called Orchiata from sustainable forests in New Zealand. In general, the Imperial line tends to be faster draining and drier, while the Classic mixes hold more moisture. The choice between Classic and Imperial depends on your plants’ specific needs and your preferred potting style.

Choosing the Right Phalaenopsis Mix

With five different Phalaenopsis mixes, choosing the right one can be confusing. We offer two Classic Phal mixes (Gold and Dark) and three Imperial Phal mixes (Gold, Dark, and AAA). Each mix has unique characteristics that make it perfect for specific environments and applications. If your plants are growing in hot or dry arid locations, the Gold versions, including AAA Imperial, are the best choice due to their high water retention properties. On the other hand, if your plants are in wet, cool, or higher humidity areas, the Dark versions will be more suitable. Your watering habits and the age and condition of your orchids are also factors to consider. Younger plants with smaller root systems benefit from sphagnum-based mixes, while plants in “sick bay” thrive in the Classic Gold and Imperial AAA mixes. Remember to repot your orchids annually to maintain their health.

The Popularity of Imperial Orchid Mixes

We’re proud to offer nine Imperial Orchid Mixes, each tailored to specific genera and plant types. While our Classic Orchid Mixes are excellent, we wanted to provide something truly extraordinary for our customers. These mixes contain no traditional orchid media like coconut husk or fir bark, offering a clear alternative. Each mix is unique, with ingredients like AAA New Zealand Sphagnum, Imported Cork Chips, Orchiata Monterey Bark, and more. We spell out every ingredient, ensuring complete transparency. These special mixes have become extremely popular because they give people more choices and cater to individual preferences. We use all of our mixes ourselves because each one has its place.

The Magic of Cork

Cork is a favorite among many orchids. It doesn’t get overly wet, resists mold, and provides craggy surfaces for roots to cling to. Our cork chips, chunks, and nuggets make a fantastic addition to mixes, keeping them open and airy. Not only do they offer practical benefits, but they also look fantastic in the mix. Plus, the top layer of the mix tends to stay fresh and clean for longer periods of time.
