We offer two lines of mixes: Classic and Imperial. The Classic mixes were our first creations and remain a slightly more affordable option. The Imperial mixes, on the other hand, are made with harder-to-find ingredients, are more complex, and are costlier to produce. For example, our Phalaenopsis Imperial mixes (AAA, Monterey Gold, and Monterey Dark) are made with ultra-pure New Zealand AAA Sphagnum moss and other carefully selected ingredients. The Gold version also includes virgin cork chips from Portugal, while the Dark Version contains special aged bark called Orchiata from sustainable forests in New Zealand. In general, the Imperial line tends to be faster draining and drier, while the Classic mixes hold more moisture.
