How to Wrap and Gift Plants: Creative Ideas for Plant Presents

Plants make incredible gifts that bring life and joy to any occasion. If you’re tired of traditional flower bouquets and want to give something truly special, consider wrapping and gifting indoor houseplants. In this article, we’ll explore three unique ways to present plants and provide printable leaf plant tags that add a personal touch to your plant presents.

The Magic of Wrapped Potted Plants

There’s something enchanting about receiving a plant that’s beautifully wrapped. It adds a touch of whimsy and makes the gift even more delightful. Luckily, wrapping potted plants is easier than you might think. Let’s explore three different wrapping techniques and discover the supplies you’ll need.

Wrapping with Fabric

To wrap your plant pot with fabric, you’ll need a few simple supplies:

  • Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Yarn
  • Hot Glue
  • Plants

Begin by placing your plant in the center of a spread-out fabric. Fold the fabric up from the top and bottom, and then fold the two ends to create a present-like shape. Tuck the folded ends under the plant to form a square shape. Finally, fold the fabric as if wrapping a gift, secure it with a dab of hot glue, and add a pretty bow using yarn.

Wrapping with Brown Wrapping Paper

For a rustic and elegant look, wrap your miniature palm plant with brown wrapping paper. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Butcher block paper
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue
  • Plants

Start by cutting the paper into a square shape. Glue two opposite corners of the paper to your pot, and then glue the remaining two corners. Treat your plant pot and paper like a wrapped present and secure it with a dab of hot glue.

Wrapping with Fake Monstera Leaves

If you want to create a tropical vibe, wrap your succulent plant with faux Monstera leaves. Gather these supplies:

  • Faux Monstera Leaf
  • Glass Vase
  • Hot Glue
  • Scissors

Decide on the best placement for your Monstera leaf and attach it to the glass vase using hot glue. Roll the vase back and forth to ensure the leaf lays flat against it. Continue adding hot glue to the leaf and rolling the vase until the leaf is fully secured. Trim any excess leaf along the bottom of the vase, leaving a small section to fold over. Use hot glue to fold the extra leaf under for a clean and flat bottom.

Plant Tags: Adding a Personalized Touch

To complete your wrapped plant presents, add leaf-shaped plant tags. These tags not only look charming but also provide information about the plant species. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Plant Tag printable (see below)
  • Scissors
  • Toothpicks or small wooden skewers
  • Hot Glue

Start by downloading the Plant Tags file (available below) and print it at home or your local print shop. After that, cut out the leaf shapes using scissors. Add a small dab of hot glue to the back of each leaf tag and attach a toothpick or wooden skewer. You can then insert the tag into the soil of the plant.
